Mate made his way down, kissing and licking between where the wings sprouted from his body on down the spine until he reached the top of Omri’s ass.
For the second time since a strange noise woke him, Mate sank to his knees and ran his hands over Omri’s ass cheeks. He gripped the flesh and spread him, getting close to lick. The musky taste hit him, and he wanted more. A low growl left him and he pushed closer, needing more, craving more.
As he ate him out, Mate reached up between his legs and began tugging on Omri’s cock. Pulling down, giving a slight twist each stroke. He alternated between the shaft and the sac. Omri’s cries grew louder, and Mate’s dick was so hard it bordered on painful.
With a pop on the ass, he pushed up and spit to give him more lubrication. Doing it again, he made sure his cock was slick and lined the head up to the puckered hole.
Deep breath, Omri.
When he did, Mate pushed slowly into the bundle of nerves.
Somehow his entire body lit like someone moved electricity through him on a mild setting. Not enough to hurt, however, enough that he could feel the hair stand up and the pulses flow.
You’re feeling what I am. I linked us together so there would be no hiding any emotion.
Holy fuck.
I take it you’re not in pain then.
Unless by pain you mean feeling so good it hurts, no.
Mate pushed farther in, not fast, but allowing him to get used to him there. Omri’s heart skipped up a few beats and he stilled, waiting until the tempo slowed slightly. Then he continued on, pushing until he was completely seated in his ass.
I just came again.
If he believed this being could be embarrassed, Mate would have sworn he heard that in his words.
Good. I want you to come even more.
Chapter Four
The shakes and shudders wouldn’t quit. Omri didn’t know what to do with this roller coaster of emotions that had taken over him. His fingers dug into the wall as if it wasn’t even there. Complete. There wasn’t another word for what he experienced.
And he didn’t mean in the past he’d not been complete but until Mate, he’d not known what he had been missing. Now, he knew and didn’t want to lose it.
All of his nerves were on fire, and he burned from the inside out. Mate fucked him, taking deep long strokes in his ass, as his hands touched him. All over. Chest, wings, cock.
I want to have my hand gripped around your dick as you come. I need to feel it jerk before you spill your seed.
Mate’s words were accompanied by him putting actions to words. His lids fluttered as those calloused strokes shifted along the hypersensitive skin.
I cannot come again.
I disagree, Omri. Your cock is hard and your balls are heavy, full of your seed. You can and you will come once more. Then, I want you to fuck me.
His cock pulsed, and Mate’s chuckle rolled over him. Mate pinched the head of his cock before stroking again. Omri wanted to prolong this hellish ecstasy.
As if the human knew, he gripped tighter and moved faster.
Don’t deny what we both want.
Mate’s voice in his head was different from the others he spoke to. There was something intimate and personal to hearing his voice.
Omri struggled not to give in. Mate took the decision away from him. He buried his face against the spot precisely where his right wing protruded from his back, kissed it then nipped. Omri came with a roar that shook the walls, cock jerking and pulsating.
Mate trembled and responded in kind. His cock released a thick stream of cum in Omri’s ass. Body exhausted in a manner he’d never experienced before, he settled his palm against the wall and used it to support his and Mate’s weight.
When Mate pulled free, Omri gave a small moue of frustration but snapped it off before he allowed it to continue. As his human lover began to walk away, he snagged him by the arm and drew him so Mate was between him and the wall.
Where are you going?
Mate smiled and dragged his hands down the front of his chest. I was going to get cleaned up. Unlike you, I can’t just blink myself clean.
Omri did just that. One day I will take you to where I shower and show you what that is like. Your place is too small for my wings.
Dress me and take me outside, I want to see these wings in full glory.
Within moments they were outside, both dressed, and Omri stood there, wings outstretched as Mate circled him, touching, muttering, and moving on.
“This is fucking amazing. Are you born this way?”
“Yes.” His throat was sore from the moans and screams he’d released earlier. “Why?”
“I don’t know,” Mate said heading to a table on the other side of the tree and truck before hopping up on the flat top. “I’ve never met one of your kind. Angels were more of a myth to me when I was growing up.”
He shook his head and his wings settled to their resting position. “I’m not an Angel.”
Mate waved a hand. “I know, I know you’re a Virtue. I get it, but you are what we humans would consider an angel. You are angelic and have wings. You’re an angel.”
He longed to touch him once more, if only to convince himself whatever they had shared hadn’t been a figment of his imagination. But real.
“That doesn’t make sense. We all have our own specific traits that immediately distinguish us from one another.”
“Like?”
Omri moved to the edge of the table and sat as well, his wings settling in the dirt on the ground. Crossing his legs, he faced Mate, who watched him with nothing but pure interest in his expression. Almost nothing more, Omri did pick up on some lust there as well.
“All Virtues have these.” Omri gestured to the leather identifiers he had on his arms.
“So if another shows up with wings and has the gauntlets as you do, then I know automatically he is a Virtue?”
“Or she.”
“Right, or she.” He cleared his throat. “So where is your weapon? When I first saw you it was after you shoved a gold spear through the chest cavity of that demon.”
“I don’t typically carry a weapon. I am not usually where the demons are.”
“You mentioned something about the weather before.”
“Yes. Weather events are usually at the hands of the Virtues.”
“I’m going to leave that alone for a moment before I get pissed you do hurricanes, twisters, and more. I want to know why you were down here?”
Omri took a deep breath. “This is difficult for me to admit. My kind isn’t vengeful but when I had remained angry,” he shook his head with embarrassment, “at what I had discovered earlier and saw the signs of a demon, I figured if I could kill one perhaps my guilt at being unable to save Maaike would ease.”
“And Maaike is?”
“A Seraphim who was killed.”
Mate scrubbed a hand along the scruff on his jaw. “Another of your kind.” When Omri raised an eyebrow, he continued, “But different because he’s a Seraphim.”
“Exactly.”
“Anger isn’t something to be ashamed over. You lost a friend, it’s natural.”
“To your kind perhaps. I was created to be better, superior.” He called up a breeze and froze when the scent of Sulphur reached his nose.
“Get inside,” he commanded, rising from the table with a few flaps of his wings, drawing forth his weapon and sending a call along their network.
“Fuck that, I’m not leaving you alone. You took my weapon earlier. Give it back. In fact, give me the one I had when you first saw me.”
Human!
Don’t think because you’ve had your dick in my ass you can order me around.
No, it’s because I am a superior species and they are dangerous.
Better get me a weapon then, because I’m not leaving.
Mate. Something akin to panic filled him.
I see four coming from this way. Ugly motherfuckers. Want to arm me before they turn me into a fl
esh-eating zombie?
With a wave he gave Mate his weapons and the body armor he’d been wearing the first time. If it would help against a demon, he didn’t know, but honestly, he didn’t have time to think about that right now.
The fight had begun.
* * * *
Mate cycled his weapon and turned it to the next beast coming at him. Its elongated face, dripping with green slime and filled with disgusting teeth that still looked razor sharp, churned his gut. If this was something he had to get used to, he was going to become a bigger drinker.
Releasing bullets in slow static bursts, he mowed down the ones coming up from behind Omri. Part of him longed to turn around and see what his winged lover was doing, and how he was doing, but he knew that was a fool’s errand.
A screech from above yanked his gaze up, and he lunged to the left, away from the outstretched claws just as a gold chain exploded out from the sky and wrapped around the scaly bastard. Its screech, while painful on the eardrums, was a relief.
It went up then slammed to the earth in a whipping force of power. It didn’t move again. Some of the others hesitated, and that cost them their lives.
Mate couldn’t see what it was doing the killing, all he could see was the way the demons died. Loss of head or torso, or the chain.
Silence reigned, and with his heart thundering in his chest, he turned to look at Omri. The Virtue was sweating, but he appeared fine. His blue wings were back and held off the ground as he stared beyond Mate.
His gaze dipped for a brief moment, caressing him before returning to over his shoulder. Then Omri inclined his head in a show of respectful thanks.
What the fuck is going on here?
Turning, he wondered what the Virtue had seen. One second he saw nothing, the next, a large black man with silver wings strode into view. It was like he stepped out of the air onto the ground. Mate swallowed and looked around once more before focusing on the large being, who moved with a lithe grace that bespoke a deadly ability. He averted his eyes, needing a momentary break from the overpowering presence this creature exuded.
Golden eyes lanced him to the spot he stood, and he didn’t think he had it within him to break free and move. As it neared, the chain wrapped from his shoulder down across his chest in a diagonal pattern. The dark blue shirt had no sleeves, and even Mate was impressed with the muscles agleam below that dark caramel skin.
He is not the one for you, Mate.
Omri’s voice snapped him from the trance he had been in, and he shook his head, willing his sanity to return so he could either fight or run if that was necessary.
“Omri.”
The deep voice rolled over him, sparking power where it landed. Mate closed his eyes and flexed his fingers on the stock of his rifle. With a slow, deliberate motion, he pivoted to see Omri and the one who’d just arrived standing close together.
Jealousy rose swiftly within him.
Calm yourself. Omri’s voice wove through him, touching him in places he knew as sure as he was standing there, that only one would be able to do.
I’m calm. Who is he, why is he here, and does he have to stand so close to you?
He is Danjiel, our most powerful warrior and Power. More will be arriving, please do not shoot them.
Within ten minutes, Mate had moved back to the table beneath the tree and sat. He didn’t know what else to do. This was not only beyond the scope of anything he’d done before but also past his knowledge of reality. Multiple angels roamed the yard, talking, plotting, gesturing. Who knew what else. Men and women of all races. Some of them had wings that were similar to one another. All except the one with the silver wings. He was not like any of the others.
One of them, a Power, if he was figuring this out correctly, approached him from the left. He moved slowly, but Mate wasn’t fooled. These beings had a vastly different outlook on everything than he did. Human life was one of them.
He ran a hand over his hair before coming to a halt beside him.
“Thank you for saving Omri.”
“Who are you?” Mate asked.
“My name is Elexus. I see your concern about this. We are not created to kill humans, do not worry.”
His cell rang, and he nodded before hefting it a bit. “Thank you. Excuse me, I have to take this.”
He slipped off the table and walked a distance even as he answered. “Aarden.”
“No shit, man, I know who this is. We’re in town, come meet for a drink at the bar. Rumor has it you’re on suspension.”
“How the fuck do you know all this shit, Morris? And who all is with you?”
“The gang is all here. How long until you get here?”
“Less than thirty.”
“See you then.” The call ended, and he smiled as he hung up from his friend Morris Radclyffe.
Omri stood behind him, as he found out when he turned to the house. Mate had drawn a sharp intake of breath and had to lock his knees to keep him upright.
Who made you smile so much?
Mate’s lips twitched. You’re sounding jealous, but that couldn’t be because it would be beneath you.
Who?
Someone who I consider a brother. You and your kind are free to stay as you wish, I’m heading out to meet them.
Them? You said a brother. Now there’s a them.
There are five of us actually but the them I mean is the four of them. We all grew up together and were picked on because we were all gay. They are my friends. I’m going to see them, as I haven’t in a long while. I’ll be back later. He hurried to the house, swiped his keys and wallet then was back in his truck and heading to the local bar.
The inside was loud, full of scantily clad women and fast-flowing alcohol. He skimmed his gaze along the crowd. Busy for the heat of the day, which didn’t seem the slightest bit inclined in lessening. Finding his group, he headed for them with a smile.
All four stood and after hugs were shared, they all took a seat. “It’s damn good to see all of you.”
He stared at the men he viewed as brothers. Morris Radclyffe, a fixed wing pilot. Perceval Lacey, a turbine tech, Xenon Gabor, a heavy equipment operator, and Gang Zhao, who was now a legitimate car transporter. While they lived all over the world, they remained tight and close.
Lowering himself to the chair, he grinned at Gang. “That Jag in the lot is yours then?”
He shrugged, a grin turning up his lips. Tipping his head forward, he peered at them over the rim of his rectangular sunglasses. “For the moment.”
Xenon reached for his beer. “You know that means he’s only no longer being chased by the cops because they decided it was easier to have him on their side than it was to be constantly having to hunt you down and try to stop you from stealing those cars.”
“Probably very true,” Perceval added. “You always were getting us rides to where we needed to go.”
“Not a car you couldn’t boost,” Morris said, with pride.
Mate clinked bottles with the four of them. “We’ve always been so proud of you.”
Gang waggled a finger at them. “Don’t go acting like I’m the only one who raised Cain as we were growing up. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one sitting in detention, juvie, or any of those other places we were.”
Laughter erupted out of Mate. “Very true. Damn, it’s good to see you again.” He settled back in to catch up with his family, even as in the back of his mind he wondered about the Virtue he’d had today, in more ways than one.
Chapter Five
You trust this human?
I do. Omri allowed the answer to fall without any hesitation on his part, even though he didn’t turn his focus from where Mate sat under a large umbrella with four other guys outside the bar, drinking and laughing.
One man was of slighter build and shorter than them all, no mistaking the muscles but his expression was much more serious than Mate’s. He had black hair and chiseled features. An Asian who wore sunglasses and had on finer clothing than th
e others. Didn’t stop him from enjoying his drink with those seated with him.
Another was a bit shorter than Mate, but his strength was firmly displayed beneath his cotton tee shirt. A Caucasian male. Beside him was the largest of them all, one who had Islander blood within his veins, as there wasn’t any hiding the tribal tattoos on his arm, the long black hair, or the way he carried himself.
The final was a black man who had his own share of muscles. He wore a white tank top, and there wasn’t any denying the tattoos there either, or the large chain around his neck.
By first glance it wasn’t a group he would have put together, for humans tended to have issues with those who weren’t like them. But these five, it wasn’t hard to see the affection they had for each other.
He didn’t seem to panic when we landed and were walking around his place.
As the silver-winged Power beside him hadn’t asked a question, Omri kept his mouth shut. He allowed his focus to remain on the human he had decided to keep. His heart pounded harder when the man smiled and tipped his face up, allowing his brilliant smile to shine.
As the others with Mate continued to laugh and talk, his human angled his head in their direction and stared, almost searching, or perhaps he could see. Omri swore his eyes landed directly upon his form, burning him, seeing past the protection they used most of the time amongst humans to keep from being seen.
Without taking his gaze away, Mate lifted his drink and took a swallow. Omri gulped, it was like he’d reached out and stroked a hand along his shaft, bringing it back to life with ease.
Perhaps we should make him forget he ever saw us.
That is not a choice I am able to make. Omri hated to hear such a suggestion, but he wouldn’t fight that if it was their decision. They had a hierarchy, and he had to follow it.
So you wouldn’t fight for your human?
Of course I would fight for the humans. It is what I was created for. He wondered if Danijel could hear how hard his heart beat in his chest.
Not what I asked and you know it, Omri. Look at me.
