Rao Page 4
He blinked a few more times and sat up. “I’m going with you?”
“We will escort you to your vehicle then you will meet us at the final spot. His mate and another will be there.”
Game face on, Felix nodded as he rose from the bed and dressed in short order. “Let’s do this then.”
Together they strode out of the cabin, Demuri in the same place he’d been left. As he looked at them both a slight tug of his lips turned up before it was wiped away. He took to the air and hovered there.
“One more time?”
Hopefully not the final time, I still want to try sex in the air.
Rao almost dropped the man he’d just picked up as he took to the sky.
I couldn’t see a damn thing last night, but this is impressive. I don’t think I would ever travel any other way if I had the ability to fly. The world is beautiful from up here.
I will take you to some of my favorite places sometime, show you real beauty.
Does this mean this isn’t ending between us?
He slowed as he circled the Jeep. Nothing was stated as he set him on the ground. Demuri landed beside him and looked at Felix.
“A man named Tristan will be waiting for you at the airport. He is my mate and will lead you to where we need you to go.”
“And my job, what am I supposed to tell them? Or am I still supposed to be out here for a few more days?”
“Whichever is easiest for you to handle. We don’t care. This is something much more important than stopping a poacher. If we fail, hell will come to earth.”
Felix gave a sharp grin. “Well, good. No pressure then.”
Rao and Demuri shared a glance. Demuri left them there and hovered a bit above them. Rao knew he was waiting on him to say his farewell and accompany him to their destination.
This isn’t ending between us, Felix Oberti. I wanted to let you know this. I will be waiting for you when you arrive.
So this isn’t a one-time thing?
Not for me. I don’t do one time. This is more long-term than that for me. If you can’t handle that, make up your mind on your way. As I stated, I will be waiting for you.
No declarations of love? Felix unlocked the Jeep and climbed in.
Rao rose in the air. My feelings far surpass your feeling of love, but I can tell you that if you would like me to. We are bound together and have been since I first saw you. You called to me that first night, which is why I was there to stop them from hurting you. I have no plans on letting you go. But like I said, think about this while you come back to me. You have to be ready to be in this for the long haul.
He flew away, praying that when they saw each other once more, the response would be in the affirmative.

The hour was growing late, and Rao did his best to control his unease. Where were they? Why hadn’t they arrived yet?
He wanted to reach out to him but was afraid the man had made his decision to not be with him, and he didn’t want to feel the rejection around all of them.
They are approaching, Rao.
He glanced over to the Angel Sagar, who looked as if he’d just walked out of the desert. All put together, no worry on his face. The same with Demuri, no stress. At least not in regard to their mates.
Turning toward the road when he heard the rumble of the vehicle, he watched with anticipation as the SUV came into sight. It was subtle, but he noticed the difference fall over both Demuri and Sagar. Mostly Demuri, for he was more acquainted with the Power than the Angel, but he softened.
The vehicle stopped, and the doors opened. Three men stepped out. He only had eyes for one. Felix wore his uniform, and Rao swallowed as lust hit him. They’d been apart for two days. That was it and yet, it felt like years. For that to happen to him, it was more than a shocking revelation. He had lived for so many years, to be missing someone after two days would have been unheard of for him before.
Felix smiled as he hefted his bag from the back and strode toward him. He dropped the bag at his feet and stared at Rao.
“What happens now?”
“Did you make up your mind on your trip here?” Rao longed to kiss him, but he held back.
Felix nodded. “I did. And I would think that it shows what I decided by the fact I’m standing here instead of back across the country doing my job. So I’ll ask you again. What happens now?”
“Now, we figure out what is going on.” Demuri’s voice reached them all.
Rao bent to lift his bag. “Then later, we have our own reunion.”
Felix stepped up beside him and brushed his arm along the wing closest to him. “That, is the best thing I’ve heard in the past two days, lover.”
Rao hid his grin and escorted the man inside the large building. Who knew what the future held, but he had his own plans of keeping this man with him.
